Spork & Gimble Lose Their Cheese
In the past, when the Moon was close enough to the Earth that you could reach up and brush it with your fingertips, friendly Moon Cheese harvesters Spork and Gimble team up to make a better life for themselves. Chaos and comedy ensues as they battle the greedy Cheese Foreman. This music-infused, Commedia dell'Arte-inspired play is delightful and touching. It is an adaptation of Soft Brain's original play with music "The Captive Moon (and Other Celestial Stories) which premiered March 2025."

Soft Brain Theatre Company is a collective of NYC-based theatre artists focused on process-driven physical comedy, using Commedia dell'Arte and musical theatre as its foundations. We specialize in the Commedia dell’Arte artform because we believe that Commedia has the unique ability to use absurdity and ridiculousness to crack open the most vulnerable parts of the human heart and mind. Using bold physicalizations, loud characters, and bawdy comedy, we allow audiences to quiet the thinking mind and expand their perceptions.
Founded in 2021 by Nicole Tsarouhas and RJ Tabachnick, Soft Brain Theatre Company has produced seven full productions and countless events from workshops to cabarets. Members of the company have trained with physical theatre artists around the world including Lecoq in Barcelona, Commedia in Florence, and Chris Bayes in NYC, to name a few. www.softbraintheatrecompany.com @softbraintheatrecompany
