As a dancer, she has performed with Jenny Rocha’s Rocha Dance Theater and nightlife company The Painted Ladies – known as “fly girls for thinking people,” in immersive dance theater company Third Rail Project’s Then She Fell, and in project based work with choreographer Barbara Mahler. As an improvisor, she is one half of The Raving Jaynes with duo partner Amy Larimer, performing regularly at The PIT and The Players Theatre. And as a clown, she performs with Virginia Scott’s company Some Clowns.
Jamie is thrilled to be creating a new solo show in collaboration with Virginia Scott and musician John Coyne, Tippy Topwell Dances Around the Subject, a show about putting your best foot forward even when you get it stuck in the door. Stay posted for future performances!
Jamie began her professional dance training at Virginia School of the Arts. She earned her B.F.A. in Dance and a B.A. in English Literature at Webster University, Saint Louis. She did post-graduate study at CODARTS, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She then moved to New York in 2006.
Jamie has studied Klein technique in depth with Barbara Mahler as well as Alexander technique and voice with Jean McClelland. She trained in Action Theater with Cassie Terman, in clown with Virginia Scott, and in comedy improv at The PIT and The Annoyance.
Jamie is devoted to honing the ability to be present, to notice, to collaborate, to take great risks, and to PLAY.

Tippy Topwell Dances Around the Subject

An evening of poignant nonsense and delight, bursting with comic dance and physical comedy,Tippy Topwell Dances Around the Subject is a new show about putting your best foot forward even when you get it stuck in the door, created in collaboration with Virginia Scott and featuring John Coyne on every instrument we can talk him into playing (but definitely the slide whistle, with the slide whistle he does the impossible!)
